Next weekend it is time again to play Windmill Windup in Amsterdam. To get us players and spectators in the mood the organization created a promo video. Well done!



I will be playing with the team Dutch Lost Boys, a team created for this tournament only, as a preparation for 1/3 of our team (which is also 1/3 of the national team) for the European Championships next month.

Afgelopen weekend (English) was mijn thuistoernooi Devils' Heaven weer. De stunt van vorig jaar, door met een gelegenheidsteam van (oud)leden van Disc Devils Twente de tiende editie te winnen, hebben we dit jaar weten te herhalen.

In de halve finale wonnen we een zwaarbevochten wedstrijd met 11-9 van mijn competitieteam Gronical Dizziness uit Groningen, waarna we het enigszins verrassend opnieuw moesten opnemen tegen Mooncatchers uit Brussel. Dat team won in de andere halve finale overtuigend van het Engelse Blue Arse Flies.



Vorig jaar speelden we ook in de finale tegen elkaar en was de stand 15-4 voor ons, nadat we toen op zaterdagmiddag nog met duidelijke cijfers van ze verloren. Dit jaar hadden we in de tweede ronde al 8-6 van ze gewonnen, maar was duidelijk dat het in de finale niet meer zo makkelijk als vorig jaar zou worden. We wonnen 15-12.



Last weekend I played my hometown tournament Devils' Heaven again. The upset from last year, winning the tournament with a special team of (former) members of Disc Devils Twente, was repeated this year.

In the semi final, we won a battle by 2 points, 11-9 against my competition team Gronical Dizziness from Groningen, after which we surprisingly had to play again against Mooncatchers from Brussels. That team won convincingly in the other semi final against the English team Blue Arse Flies.

Last year in the final we also played against each other and the final score was 15-4 for us, after we lost on saturday afternoon. This year we had already won in the second round, 8-6, but it was clear that in the final it would not be as easy as last year. We won 15-12.

!@#$%^&*()... How did I do it?

I'm going to enjoy Paganello (April 13-17, 2006), again!

To go there I was booking my flight with Ryanair, online. I also looked at Transavia, but after checking several dates for the outbound flight Ryanair was cheapest, was...

I really should not have chosen the wrong date than. Aaargghhh! I was not triggered by the price as it was the same (lucky me) and so I happily booked for a flight two weeks after the tournament (Wednesday April 26). Clumsy me, as I intended to go on Wednesday April 12. I checked the date on all previous comparisons three times before a click and now for three webpages I didn't notice nor check thoroughly.

Luckily I could change the date to the correct day, but only at the expense of an additional 30 euro fee (paid within a minute *ouch*). That's quite a lot on a 40 euro flight. It still is not a lot of money luckily, but I'm afraid I have to cut down expenses on ice a bit this year (not!)

I can laugh about it already :D (after only killing the first innocent passer-by, no I'm joking there, it was the second. Whoops, joking again. No, it was clumsy and a hard and expensive lesson. Like failing your driving-test is a very expensive driving lesson. Luckily I didn't do that)
